Castello dei Rampolla is one of the most well respected wineries of Chianti Classico. It's placed right in the heart of the Conca d'Oro valley, a true paradise for grape growing. Siblings Maurizia and Luca run this beautiful estate that oozes the true Tuscan charm of the past. Their approach is biodynamic in the growing and low interferences in the winery. The main grapes are Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot but the vineyards also have small parts of white grapes like Trebbiano, from which a dessert wine is occasionally made.
Castello dei Rampolla isn't a winery that follow any sort of trend. There is no Riserva of Chianti Classico, let along a Gran Selezione. They simply make this Chianti Classico which is their best expression of the territorial wine. This is a delicious dry red made to accompany any kind of meal, especially great of course with Italian food.
Regular bottle (750 ml)
Sangiovese with small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
