Rosso di Montalcino 2018 DOC, San Polino

The winery:
San Polino is a family-owned winery. From the very beginning, tthe approach was absoluttely organic with uses of biodynamics and a constant research towards understanding the microbiology of the land, vines and grapes. From a mere hectare in the late 90'ies to around 5 in recent years, many great vintages have come out from San Polino.
 
The wine:
The Rosso is absolutely delightful, and as it is aged for a shorter time than its bigger brother, Brunello. It showcases perfectly how a Sangiovese can remain fresh and enjoyable even in the short term.
